Happily, Mike’s musical legacy lives on as Jim Photoglo’s son Griffin continues his drum playing on ‘Botts' Blue’
The year was 1973
Mike and Michele in 1977
Bread had just disbanded, and Michele was an aspiring singer-songwriter, having worked with Kenny Loggins and other artists. A friend suggested that she meet Mike, who might be able to help her. Michele had heard of Bread, but really didn’t know what Mike looked like. She and her friend went to Mike’s house, and when he greeted them, Michele was taken in by his good looks and charisma. They talked not at all about music that day!
Fast forward to the Adults Only album, Mike was looking for help with vocals on a song... How’d you like to sing on “Murder”- he asked Michele. She waited 30 years to sing with him!

We can continue remembering Mike and his music through what he has left with us, and what we can share with animals that need help and assistance. To that end, Michele has graciously donated Mike’s memorabilia to animal rescue organizations throughout the US. This is what this website is all about. Here you will find items up for auction that can only belong to us, the fans of Bread, as Mike would have wanted. I want to thank Michele from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity to help out in this important way.
And thank you all, for coming along on the musical ride!
